In the urban flood control system, timely and accurate monitoring of urban waterlogging is a matter worthy of consideration. As an advanced water level monitoring instrument, Water Level Measurement Devices are being introduced into the urban waterlogging management system to realize minute-level monitoring of urban waterlogging.

Water Level Measurement Devices are a new generation of digital sensors, mainly working on the principle of the weak conductivity of water. It has high precision, can accurately reflect changes in waterlogging level, and is not affected by external environmental factors such as sludge, pollutants, and sediments. It also has excellent waterproof, dustproof, and anti-interference performance.

In urban waterlogging-prone points, such as areas along the Yangtze River, underpasses of overpasses, and intersections of ramps, these devices are "on duty". On the basis of identifying all urban waterlogging-prone points, multiple sets of Water Level Measurement Devices have been introduced. In actual operation, Water Level Measurement Devices are connected to roadside drainage wells. When water in the drainage wells overflows, Water Level Measurement Devices can quickly capture water level data based on the principle of communicating vessels and send the data to the command center within just a few minutes through wireless transmission. Staff can clearly see the waterlogging situation at each point on the large screen in the command center.

To further improve the accuracy and reliability of waterlogging monitoring, Water Level Measurement Devices are also used in conjunction with other equipment. For example, cameras are installed on street lamp poles not far from the Water Level Measurement Devices. These cameras can help staff intuitively judge the waterlogging situation, make up for the possible failure of Water Level Measurement Devices caused by special weather, blockage by fallen leaves, equipment damage, etc., and improve the accuracy of judgment.

Water Level Measurement Devices support multiple data transmission methods, such as 4G, NB-IoT and other wireless communication methods, which can be flexibly selected according to on-site conditions. At the same time, the supporting data visualization platform can display real-time waterlogging depth, historical data, early warning information, etc., facilitating users to view and analyze. When the waterlogging depth exceeds the preset warning value, the system will automatically issue early warning information to remind relevant departments to take timely response measures, effectively avoiding losses caused by urban waterlogging.
