Plant Stem Flow Meter Overview

Plant Stem Flow Meter is used to automatically monitor the sap flow rate in trees to determine plant water consumption, and it is capable of continuous, long-term monitoring in field environments.The thermal dissipation-based Plant Stem Flow Meter is designed according to the Granier sap flow measurement principle. It utilizes a two-probe configuration, in which the upper probe contains a heating element that provides constant-power heating. Thermocouples are used to measure the temperature difference between the upper and lower probes. Based on these measurements, the sap flow rate within a plant stem can be calculated using the thermal dissipation principle and empirical coefficients, providing insight into the plant's transpiration and water consumption.
