Striped stem borer monitor is an intelligent device designed to meet the needs of agricultural and forestry pest monitoring. Leveraging integrated optoelectronic and digital control technologies, it enables fully automated pest monitoring, supports various environmental sensing capabilities and multi-channel data transmission, and is widely used in pest control for rice cultivation.

Striped stem borer monitor is an intelligent device specifically developed for pest monitoring and forecasting in agriculture and forestry. Primarily used in rice cultivation, it utilizes modern integrated optical, electrical, and digital control technologies to establish an automated, intelligent pest monitoring system. It effectively replaces traditional manual monitoring methods, enhancing both the accuracy and efficiency of pest surveillance. The device features a powder-coated stainless steel housing that is robust and durable, making it suitable for complex outdoor field environments; its excellent protective performance ensures stable, long-term field monitoring operations.

Striped stem borer monitor is equipped with a 7-inch Chinese-language capacitive LCD touchscreen and runs on an intelligent Android system. It supports user-defined operating modes based on time intervals and offers flexible automatic and manual image capture functions, displaying real-time data such as ambient temperature, humidity, and device operating time. The device features a 12-megapixel image acquisition unit capable of clearly capturing images of insects on the collection tray. It also incorporates a built-in vibration-based spreading mechanism to ensure the uniform distribution of trapped insects, thereby optimizing image quality and counting accuracy. Unlike standard image-recognition counting devices, this system utilizes a grating-based counting mechanism to accurately tally pests—such as the striped rice stem borer—in real-time and automatically upload the data to a management platform, ensuring greater stability in data statistics.

Striped stem borer monitor is equipped with a dual-layer far-infrared insect processing chamber. Its temperature control system ensures the temperature stabilizes at 85±5°C after 15 minutes of operation, with adjustable processing duration. It achieves an insect mortality rate of at least 98% and an insect integrity rate of at least 95%, effectively exterminating pests while preserving the integrity of the specimens to provide reliable data for pest analysis. The system features multiple intelligent control functions—including light, time-interval, and rain-based controls—automatically activating lights at night to attract insects and entering standby mode during the day. Operating schedules can be customized based on the growth habits of the striped rice stem borer (*Chilo suppressalis*), while an independent drainage structure automatically discharges rainwater, separating it from the insects to prevent equipment malfunctions caused by water accumulation.

Regarding data transmission and management, the system supports various connectivity options, including 4G, Wi-Fi, and wired networks, and allows for the flexible integration of environmental sensors (measuring wind speed, temperature, humidity, light intensity, rainfall, etc.) to simultaneously monitor pest activity and related environmental data. Dual GPS and BeiDou positioning capabilities enable precise location tracking of monitoring sites, while an integrated flow-rate alarm mechanism provides timely alerts regarding operational anomalies. Personnel can view data and control device functions via multiple platforms—including PC, mobile apps, and WeChat—enabling fully automated, unattended operations covering insect attraction, extermination, photography, cleaning, and collection. This significantly reduces labor costs associated with pest monitoring and forecasting in agriculture and forestry, providing precise data to support the scientific prevention and control of rice pests and diseases.
