Cloud-Based Temperature & Moisture Meter for Precision Farming

The traditional soil testing process mainly consists of three stages: sampling, sample preparation, and analysis. First, sampling requires selecting multiple sampling points in the target area according to specific rules, collecting soil samples at different depths to ensure representativeness. Next, the collected samples are processed by removing impurities, air-drying, grinding, and sieving to prepare soil samples suitable for testing. Finally, laboratory instruments analyze indicators such as soil moisture, temperature, pH value, and nutrient content. The entire process is time-consuming and has poor timeliness.

Digital Transformation: Online and Precision Soil Testing with Soil Temperature and Moisture Meter

With the development of agricultural digitization, the Soil Temperature and Moisture Meter has enabled online and refined "soil testing". This internet-based instrument is equipped with multiple sensors (the most critical being soil temperature and moisture sensors). Through sensors buried in the soil, it can real-time collect moisture content and temperature data at different soil depths. Typically, high-precision capacitive or frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) moisture sensors are used for soil moisture measurement.

Real-Time Data Monitoring and Cloud Platform Integration

Data collected by the sensors are uploaded to a cloud platform via wireless networks, allowing users to view data anytime through terminals like mobile phones and computers—realizing "online soil testing". The instrument also performs continuous monitoring of soil moisture and temperature, generating change curves to provide users with refined soil information for mastering environmental variation patterns.

Advantages Over Traditional Methods

Compared with traditional soil testing, the Soil Temperature and Moisture Meter improves testing efficiency, reduces labor input, and facilitates the development of precision agricultural irrigation.

This overview highlights the process and technical details of online soil testing. For more information about the instrument, please consult our customer service.
