Urban Waterlogging and Road Water Accumulation Monitoring Station

Article source:Weather station   time:2025-06-17 09:36:19    viewed:1times

With the accelerating urbanization process, urban waterlogging has become increasingly severe. Large areas of land are hardened, significantly reducing the permeability of natural soil, causing rainwater to rapidly accumulate on the surface. Additionally, the low design standards or aging of urban drainage systems make them difficult to handle the heavy rainfall brought by extreme weather. Coupled with climate change, which has led to frequent extreme weather events and increased intensity/frequency of heavy rains, the risk of urban waterlogging has surged dramatically.

Urban waterlogging poses huge hazards. A single heavy rain can turn urban roads into rivers in an instant, causing vehicles to break down, pedestrians to be stranded, and traffic to come to a complete standstill. It may also trigger secondary disasters such as flooded basements and damaged power facilities, seriously threatening the lives and property of citizens.

Therefore, urban waterlogging accumulation monitoring is essential. It can real-time monitor road water accumulation, issue timely warnings, and effectively reduce the impact of waterlogging on citizens' lives and urban operations. The Road Water Accumulation Monitoring Station is a key tool to achieve precise monitoring.

The Road Water Accumulation Monitoring Station FT-JS1S consists of an electronic water level gauge main unit and water gauge segments. Its working principle is based on the weak electrical conductivity of water. Using a processor chip as a controller, it obtains water level data by measuring electrodes. After the CPU performs digital encoding, graduation, sampling, and digital processing on these data, the water level information is transmitted to the monitoring center or software via wired/wireless communication technology, enabling real-time monitoring and early warning of water levels.

The water gauge segments are available in two specifications: 50cm and 80cm, which can be randomly combined with no limit on the number of segments, flexibly adapting to the measurement length requirements of different monitoring scenarios. It should be noted that water gauge segments with the same precision but different height specifications can be mixed, while segments with different precision specifications cannot be mixed.
