We all say that agriculture relies on the weather, which is true, but in addition to meteorology, soil is also a factor to be considered. To determine whether crops grow well, the quality of the soil must be evaluated first. The factors determining soil quality include texture, structure, fertility, pH value, organic matter, soil moisture, microorganisms, pollution status, etc.

Today, we mainly focus on soil moisture, which refers to the water content in the soil. Assuming meteorological conditions are suitable, crops will grow well if the soil moisture is appropriate. However, if the soil moisture is inappropriate, such as drought or waterlogging, the crops will definitely fail.

Therefore, soil moisture monitoring is necessary. It should be noted that in the process of transforming traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, the concepts of precision agriculture and smart agriculture have emerged. Both focus on achieving fine-grained management and scientific decision-making in agricultural production through modern technological means. As a key link in precision agriculture, soil moisture monitoring can provide timely and accurate soil moisture information for agricultural production, assisting practitioners in formulating scientific irrigation plans and improving water resource utilization.

So, what is the instrument for measuring soil moisture? Today, we introduce a type of soil moisture monitoring equipment - the Ten-layer Tubular Soil Moisture Monitor. As the name suggests, its design focuses on the "tube" - by embedding multi-layer PVC pipes, high-precision soil moisture sensors are installed in the pipes at different depths to achieve precise monitoring of soil moisture at different layers. High monitoring depth and precision: It can monitor the soil in the depth range of 0-100 cm in ten layers. The monitoring depth can be flexibly customized (less than 100 cm). Each layer of sensors can independently complete parameter measurement, enabling rapid, accurate, and comprehensive monitoring of moisture and temperature content in different soil layers. This layered monitoring method allows farmers and agricultural workers to clearly understand the moisture distribution in different soil layers.

Spiral measuring electrode design: The sensor adopts a spiral measuring electrode design, breaking through the limitation of single-point measurement, making the soil humidity information more reliable and accurately reflecting the true water content of the soil.

High-quality material and waterproof performance: The sensor shell is made of imported PC material, which has high strength, corrosion resistance, no pollution to the environment, and a waterproof grade of IP67, enabling long-term outdoor use.

Wireless transmission function: The equipment supports wireless transmission, and can upload monitoring data to the data center or cloud platform in real time through wireless networks such as GPRS and 4G. Users can remotely view soil moisture data anytime and anywhere through mobile APP or computer, realizing real-time monitoring and dynamic management of farmland soil conditions.
