Various disasters and potential safety hazards threaten people's lives and property. Today, we introduce a water rescue and fire-fighting equipment - the Portable Ultrasonic Water Depth Meter.

Fengtu's Portable Ultrasonic Water Depth Meter (models such as FT-CS120) is an easy-to-operate portable depth sounder. Its working principle is to place the ultrasonic transducer on the water surface or a specific position, and automatically calculate the water depth H by using the fixed sound velocity VC of ultrasonic waves in water and the time T from emission to reception. The component mounting rate of this instrument reaches 99%, and it uses a dedicated large-scale integrated circuit to build the ultrasonic transceiver conversion circuit, with the depth measurement result displayed on a liquid crystal screen. This ensures the long-term reliability of the product while minimizing power consumption. It features accurate measurement, low power consumption, high reliability, easy use and operation, fast and accurate measurement speed, and portability. It can accurately measure water depth both in still water and flowing water with a velocity of about 5m/s, making it an ideal water depth measuring instrument for hydrological surveys, reservoir areas of hydropower plants, lakes, river surveys, and environmental water area monitoring.

When floods strike, the water flow is turbulent and the situation is complex, making it difficult to intuitively judge the water depth. The Portable Ultrasonic Water Depth Meter can quickly and accurately measure the water depth, providing key data for rescue operations. When transferring trapped people, rescuers can use this instrument to know the water depth along the rescue route, ensuring the safe passage of rescue boats, avoiding grounding or capsizing of boats due to unknown water depth, and guaranteeing the smooth progress of rescue operations. After determining the location of trapped people, detecting the water depth can help formulate more reasonable rescue plans, select the most appropriate rescue equipment and methods, and race against time to save lives.

Ultrasonic testing is an important method in non-destructive testing. Its basic principle is to use the reflection and refraction of ultrasonic waves at interfaces (the junction of two media with different acoustic impedances) and their attenuation characteristics when propagating in media. The transmitting probe emits ultrasonic waves to the inspected part, and the receiving probe receives the ultrasonic waves reflected from the interface (defects or background) (reflection method) or the transmitted waves after passing through the inspected part (transmission method), so as to detect whether there are defects in the part, and locate, qualify and quantify the defects.

The technical principle of Fengtu's Portable Ultrasonic Water Depth Meter is similar to that of ultrasonic testing. In some non-destructive testing scenarios involving the detection of underwater objects or structures, this detector can be used as an auxiliary tool to help inspectors understand the water depth of the underwater testing environment, laying the foundation for more accurate subsequent non-destructive testing work. Before conducting non-destructive testing on the underwater foundation structure of a bridge, the Portable Ultrasonic Water Depth Meter is first used to determine the water depth at the location of the foundation structure, facilitating inspectors to select appropriate testing equipment and methods, and improving testing efficiency and accuracy.
