Core Monitoring Equipment (Magnetostrictive Weir Gauge, GNSS Station) and Manufacturer for Reservoir Dam Safety

Reservoir dams are long-term exposed to complex natural environments and load conditions. Affected by factors such as hydrometeorological changes, geological structure movements, water erosion, and material aging, the dam body and dam foundation are prone to potential safety hazards like deformation and seepage. If these hazards are not detected and addressed in a timely manner, they may accumulate over time, leading to structural damage and even major safety accidents such as dam failure. Therefore, deformation monitoring and seepage monitoring have become core links to ensure the safe operation of dams, as well as key tasks in the operation and maintenance management of water conservancy projects.

1. Magnetostrictive Weir Gauge

Among a series of monitoring equipment, the Magnetostrictive Weir Gauge is an effective device for monitoring water level and flow changes, suitable for long-term measurement of water levels in weirs and troughs of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and dam bodies. It uses a magnetostrictive sensor for liquid level measurement, featuring high resolution, good stability, reliable performance, and fast response speed.

The instrument enables linear measurement and absolute position output, and adopts non-contact continuous measurement without wear issues. The sensor requires no calibration or regular maintenance; its output signal is digital, with easy installation and a long service life. It can also simultaneously measure the temperature of the embedding point. By measuring the water head above the weir, the flow rate can be calculated based on empirical formulas for weirs/troughs (such as triangular weirs, trapezoidal weirs, and rectangular weirs).

2. GNSS Monitoring Station

The GNSS Monitoring Station integrates choke ring antenna technology, multi-system satellite positioning, and IoT transmission functions, enabling real-time deformation monitoring of dams.

It has high-precision positioning capability, supports multi-system signals, and can accurately detect surface displacement by combining professional positioning technologies.

Powered by a combination of solar energy and lithium batteries, it can operate continuously throughout the year under harsh temperature conditions. It also supports local storage and displacement alarms in independent working mode.

Through wireless transmission, it can upload real-time data such as 3D coordinates and displacement rates. It is compatible with general communication protocols, can be connected to third-party monitoring platforms, and supports 3D visualized data display.
