Soil Moisture Monitor: A Comprehensive System for Soil Moisture Monitoring, Early Warning and Data Management

A soil moisture monitor consists of a monitoring and early warning module, a wireless transmission module, an intelligent control module, and a core soil moisture monitoring and early warning information platform. Different types of soil correspond to different applicable land use patterns and management methods. Timely grasp of the quality information and dynamic changes of these soils has important reference value for guiding agricultural production and protecting the ecological environment. The concepts of "precision agriculture" and "digital agriculture" advocated in modern agriculture are both based on soil information as the core foundation. By collecting land-related information and organizing and analyzing soil data sets, it realizes decision-making research and judgment as well as soil moisture early warning, and provides sufficient soil information and data support for agricultural researchers.

The core advantages of this system are reflected in four major functions: First, the integrated management of soil moisture monitoring data. Information from different channels can be managed and analyzed on the same platform, and soil moisture management departments at all levels can rely on the unified platform to achieve information sharing and carry out precise analysis and research. Second, the establishment of a sound information release mechanism, which includes not only the release of industry information such as agricultural industry trends and national policies and regulations, but also the release of supply and demand information for interaction with growers and farmers, building an information basis and communication bridge for all parties. Third, the creation of a timely drought early warning and SMS push function. The platform can generate early warning information and send it to the regulatory authorities in designated areas, relevant departments at all levels and farmers via SMS. The early warning content includes disaster type, affected range, disaster level and response measures. Fourth, graphical early warning and visual presentation of disaster conditions. The platform divides different color levels according to the severity of disasters and marks them in the form of points on the administrative map. After opening the administrative region map, the disaster situation in each region can be presented intuitively.

The system can conduct all-round real-time monitoring of soil moisture, and each monitoring point can independently choose a single-channel measurement or multi-channel profile measurement mode. When the soil moisture exceeds the preset threshold, the system will immediately upload early warning information. Combined with the emergency management cloud service platform in farmland areas, it supports real-time viewing, downloading and online analysis of data.
