The buoy-based water quality monitoring station is an unattended monitoring system equipped with multiple types of water quality sensors. Powered by solar energy, it transmits data such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia nitrogen via a 4G network. It is suitable for routine water quality monitoring in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and aquaculture areas.

The buoy-based water quality monitoring station is an unattended monitoring system integrating data acquisition, storage, transmission, and management functions. It can be directly placed in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, nearshore areas, and aquaculture areas to perform real-time in-situ water quality monitoring. The SFA05 buoy-based water quality monitoring station mainly consists of six parts: water quality sensors, data acquisition unit, communication system, power supply system, overall support frame, and water quality monitoring platform. The basic sensors can detect five indicators: water temperature, conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia nitrogen. The equipment can also be expanded to monitor other elements such as turbidity, COD, and chlorophyll to adapt to different monitoring needs.

The buoy-based water quality monitoring station features an integrated design, combining water quality testing, wireless data transmission, and solar power. It eliminates the need for a server room during field deployment; simply deploy and anchor it for immediate operation. The built-in data acquisition unit periodically collects and stores various water quality parameters, transmitting the data to a backend monitoring platform via standard 2G or 4G communication. This allows staff to view real-time water quality without being physically present in the field, reducing the manpower and time costs associated with manual sampling. The supporting host computer software is comprehensive, supporting real-time viewing of water conditions and quality information. It includes a database, report export, and historical data download functions. Administrators can also utilize meteorological data analysis tools to conduct in-depth analysis of long-term accumulated water quality monitoring records.

The buoy-based water quality monitoring station has a wide range of applications, including urban black and odorous water body remediation, daily river management, reservoir source protection, and aquaculture water quality monitoring. It can also be integrated with automatic hydrological forecasting systems to support flood control scheduling, water supply management, and geological disaster prevention. Compared to the traditional monitoring model of manual periodic sampling, buoy equipment can achieve uninterrupted monitoring around the clock, and can promptly capture short-term fluctuations in water quality indicators. This allows managers to grasp the dynamic changes in water quality in the water area as soon as possible, providing real and effective basic monitoring data support for water environment management and water resource allocation.
